The importance of maintaining an orderly, efficient, and safe work environment whether in physical offices or virtual spaces was underscored during the National ICT Month 2025 Culminating Activity of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region V.

The event themed,โ€œMastering the 7S Framework for Enhanced Productivity in the Digital Era,โ€ facilitated by the Administrative and Finance Division was held on June 30, 2025, at the Digital Transformation Center in Legazpi City, Albay.

OIC Regional Director Rachel Ann P. Grabador opened the program by acknowledging the tireless efforts of both the regional and provincial offices throughout the National ICT Month celebration.

She commended their unwavering dedication, perseverance, and shared mission to ensure that every Bicolano, across all sectors, is empowered through Information and Communications Technology.

โ€œThe work you do, whether facilitating or leading digital literacy initiatives, promoting cybersecurity awareness, enabling communities to embrace innovation, or nurturing homegrown talent, creates a ripple effect far greater than what we witness today. Indeed, we have truly embodied our theme: โ€˜Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan,โ€ OIC RD Grabador remarked.

While the month-long celebration focused on expanding services and capacity building among external stakeholders, the culminating activity shifted the spotlight inward, emphasizing the value of self-improvement and workplace excellence through the 7S Methodology.

This practical framework: Sort, Systematize, Sweep, Standardize, Safety, Self-Discipline, and Sustain guides employees to create a work culture that is not only clean and organized but also efficient, safe, and supportive of higher productivity.

The event featured engaging and insightful sessions led by resource speakers from the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board V: Ms. Sophia Nicol M. Reforma, Ms. Rizza Jane Z. Deblois, and Mr. Jaymar P. Detoito. They emphasized how an orderly and clutter-free workspace fosters a more pleasant atmosphere, minimizes hazards, and ultimately improves efficiency and service delivery.

Participants also gained practical knowledge on essential tools and techniques for boosting workplace productivity, such as proper filing management systems, the elimination of unnecessary items, and crafting a realistic 7S action plan.

The discussion highlighted everyday practices that make a tangible difference, including timely cleaning, regular inspections, and shared accountability for maintaining work areas.

Simple yet effective habits were encouraged, like dedicating just five to ten minutes daily to tidy up, ensuring everyone takes responsibility for their surroundings, combining cleaning with inspections, and providing the right tools to keep spaces neat and safe.

By adopting the 7S Methodology, DICT Region V aims to embed discipline and continuous improvement in its work culture, ensuring that its workforce remains organized, motivated, and ready to deliver better services to the public. Ultimately, this commitment to good housekeeping strengthens the regionโ€™s goal of fostering a more resilient, innovative, and productive digital community for all Bicolanos.
